Durham; Part 2 of Friday

We then headed to Durham, to visit the Durham Cathedral. Dr. Helen Foxhall-Forbes was our guest lecturer for this part of our day. Saint Cuthbert, a monk of Lindisfarne, is laid to rest here (skipping a lot of the important historical details here :) ). A few of us were able to visit behind the altar, in the back of the church, and see his tomb and shrine.
Numerous places of historical significance could be seen everywhere in Durham (and, all of the towns we've visited, actually!)
